Serve on a Walk team

If you have attended a Walk to Emmaus and would like to serve on a future team, begin by submitting a Desire to Serve form. It lets TRWE know you are interested and available.

  • Stay connected with a reunion group and your local church.
  • Read the teaming FAQs to understand the preparation involved.
  • Share your interests and availability through the form.
  • Be prepared to participate in the required training if invited.

Submitting a form expresses interest; it does not guarantee placement. Teams and roles are selected through TRWE’s prayerful team selection process.

Read the teaming FAQs

Confirm training dates, costs, and other commitments with leadership for the specific Walk. If financial help is needed, ask about confidential scholarship assistance.

Help behind the scenes

Fourth Day service supports the weekend through practical, often unseen acts of love. Follow the coordinator’s guidance as you help make the experience welcoming for pilgrims.

  • Meal service and cleanup.
  • Agape support, snacks, and beverages.
  • Prayer Chapel support and other assigned tasks.

Published service shifts

  • Morning: 7:30 AM–11:30 AM
  • Afternoon: 11:30 AM–3:30 PM
  • Evening: 3:30 PM–7:30 PM

Confirm the shift and instructions for your selected Walk. If your plans change, let the coordinator know promptly.

Cover the Walk in prayer

Prayer is a meaningful way to support pilgrims, team members, sponsors, and the community. When the next vigil opens, choose an available time and set it aside for prayer.

  1. Open the prayer vigil page. Check the Walk number and dates before choosing a vigil.
  2. Select an available time. Follow the signup instructions and note your commitment.
  3. Pray wherever you are. Pray for open hearts, renewed faith, servant leadership, and the work of Christ in each person’s life.

If only past Walks or an announcement are listed, return closer to the next Walk or contact TRWE about upcoming opportunities.

Support agape & practical needs

Small acts of generosity help support a weekend. The Fourth Day service page includes links for snack and beverage agape when those signups are available.

  • Review requested items and quantities before signing up.
  • Follow current delivery instructions.
  • Coordinate dietary questions or special items with leadership.
  • Ask before bringing unrequested items or personal gifts.

Before you sign up

How do I know which opportunity is right for me?

Consider your availability, gifts, and current commitments. Prayer, a service shift, or a conversation about future teaming can each be a good next step. Contact TRWE if you would like help choosing where to begin.

Do I choose my role on a Walk team?

You may share your interests and experience. Walk leadership prayerfully considers team assignments using the Emmaus model of progressive servanthood. An expression of interest does not reserve a particular role.

What if I need to change a service commitment?

Contact the coordinator as soon as possible so coverage can be arranged. Use the coordinator contact link on the Fourth Day service page or the general TRWE contact form.

Why do signup pages sometimes show past Walks?

New signup opportunities may not yet be posted. Check the Walk number and dates carefully, and contact TRWE if you are unsure whether an opportunity is current.

Bring a willing heart. We’ll help you find a place.
